KAESEBERG | primary
Limited series of lighting objects

primary

primary is a limited series of 15 light objects by KAESEBERG, created exclusively for the GALVANO ART GALLERY in Leipzig.
Each piece is executed as a standalone object, a unique work, numbered and signed.

In primary – this new series by KAESEBERG, a chosen iconic T-shirt undergoes a more or less radical artistic treatment, encapsulated and illuminated to create a fresh perspective. Thanks to the bizarre aesthetics of the resin, it appears as if memories are frozen in time.
The light objects, in their inception, follow an artistic concept intertwining both modification and meaning. The titles, inspired by biblical mysticism, evoke fragments of history and personal tales, universally and individually, thought patterns, paths of experiences, and radical metaphors.

BIOGRAPHY

KAESEBERG, a self-taught artist, is both a painter and a sculptor. He has been working in a studio in Leipzig’s Baumwollspinnerei since 1994. In 2022 he opened the new Galvano Art Gallery in East Leipzig with a large solo show.

KAESEBERG is a metamorphosis artist whose work oscillates between abstraction and figuration, between drawing and sculpture, between painting and object. Discovered and made nationally famous by the gallery Eigen+Art, it is above all drawings and paintings in a forceful, reduced language of signs, in which borrowings from constructivism and minimalism can be discerned, that characterise his work.

Since 1988, KAESEBERG has held numerous solo and group exhibitions, commissions and art on building projects in Leipzig, Berlin, New York, Cologne, Basel, Sydney, Vienna, Paris, Tokyo, London, San Francisco and Hamburg. For more information: www.kaeseberg.de
